Advancing your Career with Language Schools
Students from all professional and academic backgrounds gather at the Language Schools every summer. Middlebury can assist you with job opportunities, networking possibilities, and career exploration.
While some students are seeking careers that use their language ability daily, other students incorporate their language into a job and use their language skills as a differentiator in their career and interview process. Many students at the Language Schools are established in their careers and need language in their current role or for personal reasons.
Whatever stage you are in for career development, the Middlebury College Center for Careers and Internships (CCI) and Middlebury Institute of International Studies Center for Advising and Career Services (CACS) are here to support you during the summer.
Summer Opportunities
Employers visit the Language Schools to recruit students through online webinars, a career fair, and student panels each summer, depending on the summer and availability. A list of events and programming are updated on the Accepted Student website.
Career Advising Appointments
Students can schedule a career advising session during the summer. Details of setting up these appointments will be on our Accepted Student website and at the Arrival Center.
Language Schools Immersion students can meet with the Center for Careers and Internships (CCI), while Language Schools Graduate students can set up a virtual appointment with the Middlebury Institute of International Studies Center for Advising and Career Services (CACS).
Career Paths and Resources
Students go into industries including business, education, finance, healthcare, IT, media, communications, translation, marketing, sales, government, and law. CCI and CACS provides career resources which include language specific, international, and industry opportunities.
